Online Training on Building Modelling Information (BIM)

Society of Nepalese Engineers in UK (SONEUK) has successfully conducted a one-day training session on Building Modelling Information (BIM) which attracted an active participation of more than 60 engineers and managers not only from within the UK but also from Australia and Nepal. The training programme titled An Introduction to Building Information Modelling (BIM) aimed at providing a basic concept of the elements that are considered in BIM when carrying out any infrastructure projects. The training was carried out online over video conferencing platform.

The training was divided into 2 sessions – Presentation and Q&A sessions. One of the senior SONEUK members, Assoc. Professor Dr. Ramesh Marasini has presented a theoretical background and has taken the questions from the participants. The training was organised based on high demand shown by SONEUK members through an online survey carried out on its Facebook group.

Opening the event, SONEUK Secretary Dr. Roshan Bhattarai introduced the participants with the training programmes and also welcomed all the participants. The training sessions were coordinated by SONEUK Executive Committee member Mr Hari Nepal, on behalf of Training and CPD sub-committee, SONEUK. Mr. Nepal provided a brief introduction of the resource person and also briefly described what to expect during the training session.

During Q&A session, participants were actively engaged in learning and also showed high level of enthusiasm about the training topic. All the participants including senior members of the society admired the content and the delivery of the training and also emphasized that it was very useful specially for those who have heard about BIM but not have had an opportunity to familiarise with it. Event received very positive feedback from all the participants. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from SONEUK Vice-Chairperson Mr Narad Bhandari.
