Teku Dovan

British Council Nepal has been engaging the site of Teku Dovan since early 2018 in order to develop a long-term project to support gradual rejuvenation of the site. British Council was motivated by the site’s complex history and significance as well as prior engagement of the British Embassy (through the Teku-Thapathali Research Group) to push for this business development activity. Ghanashyam Paudyal, Coordinator

Ghanashyam Paudyal, BE MSc(Eng) CEng MICE MIEAust CPEng, is a freelance Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer with about 30 years of experience in the field of Civil and Structural engineering by leading engineering teams involved during different phases of multiple projects whilst in Nepal and in UK. Currently an Advisor to the Society of Nepalese Engineers in the UK (SONEUK), Mr Paudyal’s breadth of experience in heritage conservation sector includes the reconstruction of Maya Devi temple in Lumbini.

Rosha Marahatta, Team Member
Rosha Marahatta, MSc (Arch) is a senior architect who worked for John Sanday Associates in Nepal for 18 years and had a chance to work with John Sanday in various conservation projects such as Teku Thapathali Research Group, Conservation of Cultural Heritage of Upper Mustang, etc. Winner of the international ‘Architect of the year awards 1999’ organised by JK Cement India, Mrs Marahatta moved to UK in 2008 and worked for Michaelis Boyd Associates with involvement in various central London’s residential conservation and refurbishment projects for five years. Having also worked in the conversation and refurbishment of Whitanhurst residential complex, a palace building in north London, and currently working for SCH Architects and involved in conversation and refurbishment of BBC building in Portland Street London and upgrading London’s Chinatown buildings, she is a life member of SONA-Nepal, and member of SONEUK.

Sanyukta Shrestha, Team Member
Sanyukta Shrestha, BE MSc (Multimedia Systems) is a games developer and animator with 20 years of experience in Internet and Multimedia industry in Nepal and UK. Recipient of various national and international awards in creative arts and games, Mr Shrestha is also a researcher and activist of Nepali cultural heritage, current president of Newar cultural community in London, and the secretary of SONEUK.
